Linda Sue Lingle, age 79 of Jonesboro, passed away peacefully with her family by her side, Saturday, March 30, 2024. She was born July 27, 1944 in Cairo, the daughter of Clifford and Lily (Dickerson) Betts. She married Kenneth Lee Lingle on April 20, 1963.
Linda Sue is survived by her loving husband Kenneth Lingle; daughters, Kendra Lingle and Melanie (Kurt) Hileman all of Jonesboro; grandchildren, Zane Lingle-Linder, Nicole Hileman and April Shields; great-grandchildren, Madison and Averie Dickenson, Millie and Asher Shields; special niece, Sally Betts of Elco; brother-in-law, Roger Knupp of Tamms; sister-in-law, Mary Betts of Elco; other nieces, nephews; other relative and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Debbie Knupp and brother, Lacie Betts.
Linda Sue was the matriarch of her family, and was known as “Momma of the Hill”. She has always been nurturing, caring and protective of her family. Linda Sue enjoyed traveling with Kenneth on trips out west, watching her hummingbirds and tending to her flowers. Linda Sue’s kind soul and cherished memories will live forever in the hearts of those she loved.
